Hiving? - It's Still A Bit Too Cold!
I hived one colony of Carniolans today. This is the coldest temperature I've ever hived bees in!!! I am waiting to hive the other four colonies until it gets to 40* or warmer. I'll do another hiving demo for anyone who wants to attend. Please email me if you want to attend.

I got my bees in the hives on Sunday. The working time was indeed very short. The bees lasted only a few minutes once they cooled off. But they are in their warm hives now. They seem to be able to keep the hives at the right temperature. I can tell because I still hear them inside, and because I see a bit of condensation at the top entrance.
